Hand Bowl holds anything, especially fruit. And the beauty of all REALITY products is that they are compelling objects even when they are empty. They are sculpture for the home.

The Hand Bowl is a logical extension of Harry’s Hand Hook project. People just love hands, and these hands are actually Harry’s hands cast in various useful functions. “To be perfectly honest, I’m the only person I can find willing to sit long enough to cast these objects,” says Harry. So the idea of the "hand of the designer" is more out of necessity than intention.

The Hand Hooks were three of the original products Harry conceived when he started the REALITY in 2003. The original wall hooks were meant to hold things mounted on the wall, but more often than not we saw people standing them on surfaces as art objects. Harry embraced this idea and cast two hands as a bowl—that is a beautiful object in and of itself or can act as a vessel for fruit or any other objects that need to be lifted and displayed.

At the time, Harry saw a logical connection between the way human hands hold things and the way the hooks hold things. And he imagined this line of hand shaped products. In true REALITY fashion they are all cast from life, in resin, using rubber molds. The detail is astounding.
