SOULER ESSENTIALS : YUNGBLUD LOOK
Periodically, we'll be breaking down the look essentials of a roster of style icons. Our qualifications for such vary, but it's generally based in being fearless, being a walking, living mood or aesthetic, and owning exactly who and what you are.
Yungblud does all of that and more.
He began bubbling several years ago across the pond, but recent collaborations with MGK and Halsey elevated the rocket ship. Then alt rock legend Dave Grohl has hailed him "a force, the future of rock and roll."
We've been huge fans of the Doncaster UK native for a bit now. His punk pop meets emo trap sound has not only found a home on Billboard charts, but its unified and inspired a generation of outcasts. There is a Yungblud Army. Facts.
“When something important’s going on my mind just runs,” he says in his thick Doncaster accent, before collapsing his lanky frame into a too-small chair in his PR’s agents London office. “I’ve got ADHD and I just have a million ideas a minute that just want to get out.” Yungblud, (born Dominic Harrison) ADHD comes across in his signature style.
Yungblud, a self professed pansexual, blends masculine with femme looks, 90's nostalgia with early 80's British New Wave, and streetwear with high fashion seamlessly. The result is this unique hybrid aesthetic that's authentic as fuck, and wholly unapologetic.
Here are a few pieces we selected inspired by Yungblud to "get the look."

Burkindy Custom Gold Ring
You legit can not picture Yungblud and not picture mad rings. This handmade twisted gold piece from African/Brooklyn artisan jeweler Burkindy is bang on for Bludsy, yeah?
Grim+Proper : "It's Looking Grim" Hand Made T
Florida based Grim + Proper has been a subculture selection for the past year, outfitting and becoming a favorite designer for emerging trap and emotronic acts in the US. Yungblud is often seen in tucked in avant garde rocker t's under 234 layers of "other stuff." This one is a winner. Tuck that shit in.
NYLA Boots : Channing Black Boot
Yes, NYLA makes mostly women's footwear. No it doesn't matter. Perhaps the most "essential" of all the Yungblud pieces are the signature black chunky shoe or low boot.
David Ford Eyewear : Bluetooth Blackframe
Blud and his glasses, another "thing." He ranges from the nerdy and hipster to the 90's Beverly Hills girl in his eyewear choices, but these are a staple. Made my mad genius David Ford, they've got full Bluetooth capability. Play music, voice controlled calling and answering, dual speakers embedded and blue light blockers for all the e-kids, you legit can do anything by just wearing glasses now. The future is fucking cool.
Marigold Shadows: Musset Oversized Vegan Leather Dress
Vegan leather designer Marigold Shadows of Los Angeles absolutely crushes it. Lads, cop it, layer it and make Yungblud proud.
Kollar : 1970's "The Hills" Distressed Vintage T
Kollar, the Toronto based designer merging streetwear with vintage rock-n-roll is a perfect drip for the Yungblud look. Kollar sourced old 70's t shirt blanks to screen and layer old 70's photographs over. This tee is heavily enzyme washed so it has a very worn out feel and drape, with distressing. Bonus points for the lightning striking the Hollywood Hills.
Norwood Chapters: TieDye x Trucker
Norwood Chapters has been on a meteoric rise since 2017. A favorite line of J Balvin, Kanye and a host of NBA stars, Norwood's collections are based in narrative and reflective of the emotions and energy of visionary designer Ali Saint Q. Recently, Hypebeast featured his recent collection. Plus trucker hats are all the way in.
